'Saturation of demand for daily travel'

This is the title of a paper of mine, just published online prior to print publication in the peer-reviewed journal 'Transport Reviews'.  I observe that personal travel in Britain has stabilised since 1995 at about 1000 journeys covering 7000 miles per person per year on average (excluding international travel by air).  I argue that the explanation is that demand for travel has ceased to grow since we have sufficient access and choice based on mobility to meet our needs.

The press release put out by University College London, where I am based, was picked up by the Financial Times in an accurate summaryLocal Transport Today also reported.
